QUICK RIDE CASE STUDY

Quick Ride is a Polish startup that runs a short-term rental of electric scooters. They started their business in the Tricity in 2019 and currently planning expansion to other cities and countries.

At the time of writing this case study, Quick Ride scooters could be used in Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, and Szczecin. Their application has already attracted over 90,000 unique users. Quick Ride is going to launch its services in other cities in Poland. In the long run, they plan to scale internationally.

CHALLENGE

Until February 2020, the company was using the infrastructure of a global cloud provider located in Germany. Due to the geographic distance, there were delays in the communication between the scooters and the application. Users could not rent equipment quickly and easily, which in the end affected the application experience. Quick Ride has therefore decided to move the application to the cloud with data centers located in Poland.

SOLUTION

Before Quick Ride decided to migrate to Oktawave, we allowed them to test our infrastructure. First, we carried out a thorough audit of their infrastructural expectations. Then Quick Ride set up the test environment and began to copy the data.

Since the test results were successful, Quick Ride migrated their workloads to the Oktawave cloud and deploy their environment to the production. As a result, the availability of their application increased.

The stable environment guaranteed by Oktawave gives us the possibility of continuity of services.
